Glass Butter Dish William IV Silver Cow on Lid
Glass Butter Dish
with William IV Silver Cow on lid.
Cow hallmarked Sheffield 1833
Maker: Henry Wilkinson & Co, Norfolk Street, Sheffield.
A silver plated circular cover with a hallmarked silver model of a cow to the centre. Both the cow and the securing nut carry the same hallmark.
The cow is hollow.
I believe the cow is probably a later addition to the lid so the dish and lid is of a later age.
Approximate dimensions: diameter of lid 13.5cm, height of glass bowl , weight of cow and securing nut 24.3 grams, total weight 514.6 grams.
There are surface marks associated with normal use and age.
Overall in very good condition.
Free P&P in UK. All our items include postage and packaging in the UK.
Buyers outside the UK need to email us for postage costs before buying. Overseas buyers need to check that the item they intend buying can be imported into their country and will be responsible for paying any customs and/or tax charges.
