Art Deco Mappin & Webb Silver Shallow Fruit Bowl
An immaculate, pedestal shallow dish, probably for fruit. A great piece from a premier English silversmith, Mappin and Webb, a company with a history of continuous supply of the highest quality silverware from their 18th century beginnings until the present day, having over the centuries maintained numerous royal warrants, served an international clientele.
Dates to 1937 and has that timeless edge of quality of design one expects from this company, albeit a design of the art deco style which was true to the period, but is just as relevant today ( as is all good design). Assayed in Birmingham and of 925 sterling quality, a good weight and with good clear hallmarks.
Condition is excellent, as with all our quality items we have ensured this dish has been through our silversmith and is now in excellent showroom condition, ready to grace any surface as well as more than suitable as a special gift.
Size: 10 inches diameter and 3 inches high
Buchanan and Laing Galleries are a private client business. Appointments can be made by arrangement via email.
The Company is a distance selling business and as such abides by all current HM Government consumer regulations that apply to pre-owned, second hand, antique items sold online.
We welcome purchases from all over the world, however, we do not take any responsibility or pay for import charges and taxes that non UK purchasers may accrue.
