Unusual Small Silver Cream Jug / Sauceboat
Sweet and unusual silver cream jug/small sauceboat of low oval round bellied form set on 4 stylised paw feet with angled acanthus leaf terminals. The body and spout is plain and decorated with a bold gadrooned rim and finished with a simple scroll and spur handle with a touch of engraved detail to the cap. It is a perfect size for cream but could have been/be used as an individual sauceboat. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1900, maker Thomas Ducrow.
It measures 4 3/4" long, 2 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" high and weighs 108g/3.5ozt. Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs. It stands well and there is very light surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
