Silver The Trusty Servant Cayenne Pepper Spoon
Unusual Edwardian silver cayenne pepper spoon with finial of The Trusty Servant after the painting hanging in Winchester College by John Hoskins depicting a mythical creature known as a hircocervus demonstrating the virtues expected of the college pupils. Very nicely cast with fine detail on a circular base. The spoon and stopper part is gilded and hallmarked for Chester 1909 and maker Frederick James Ross who was based in Winchester.
It measures 3 1/2" high and 7/8" by 3/4" wide. It weighs a substantial 19g/0.6ozt. Condition is very good with no damage and just light surface wear appropriate for age and use. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
