Georgian Scottish Silver Teaspoon, Aberdeen

This is a good quality Georgian Scottish Provincial Sterling Silver Teaspoon in the traditional Fiddle pattern. The spoon has the initials B S elegantly engraved at the top of the stem.
The teaspoon was made in Aberdeen by silversmith William Jamieson and dates to around the 1810s to 1830s. William Jamieson established his business in Aberdeen around 1806, initially in partnership with George Roger, but on his own from around 1812. He was a specialist spoon and flatware maker. William’s son George Jamieson took over the business in the late 1830s, later becoming George Jamieson & Son, and was eventually succeeded by his son William George Jamieson in the 1870s.
Condition is good, with no dings or dents, just a small amount of wear to the tip of the bowl after stirring innumerable cups of tea and the superficial surface wear that you would expect after around 200 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The teaspoon is 15.3cm / 6ins long and 3.3cm / 1.3ins wide across the bowl. It weighs in at a respectable 22.8g / 0.8oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the underside of the stem, are nice and clear to read. They show the ABD mark for Sterling Silver from Aberdeen and the W J makers' mark, struck twice, for William Jamieson.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
