Edwardian Silver Mustard Spoon, Walker & Hall 1903
This is a good quality Edwardian Sterling Silver Mustard Spoon in the traditional Old English pattern. The initial h has been neatly engraved in a Gothic style at the top of the stem.
The mustard spoon is made by world famous silversmiths Walker & Hall in Sheffield and dates to 1903. Founded by George Walker and Henry Hall in 1853, the company quickly established itself at the forefront of English silversmiths and electroplaters with a factory in Sheffield and showrooms throughout the UK, Australia and South Africa. They were finally absorbed into British Silverware in 1963.
Condition is very good, with no dings, dents or corrosion and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after nearly 120 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The mustard spoon is 9.1cm / 3.6ins long and weighs a respectable 8.5g / 0.3oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the underside of the stem are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter l for 1903 and the famous W & H in a pennant makers' mark for Walker & Hall.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
