Art Deco Novelty Silver & Glass Teapot Stand
A very stylish and unusual silver and glass teapot stand with a finely detailed and humorous scene pierced and engraved into the silver depicting a huntsmen on horseback riding through the countryside with his hounds chasing after a couple of foxes that are climbing over a fence to escape. A frieze of running hounds and foxes alternating with oak leaves and acorns runs around the outside. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1936, makers Adie Brothers Ltd.
It measures 15.2cm / 6" wide and 0.7cm / 1/4" high. Condition is very good with just the odd light surface mark and light surface wear and just a couple of places where the silver has lifted ever so slightly from flush with the glass. The engraved detail and hallmarks are lovely and clear.
