6 x George V Silver Napkin Rings, J. Rose, 1915

Here we have a smart Cased Set of Six George V Sterling Silver Napkin Rings. The napkin rings are circular with bowed sides and sit within the case in a purple velvet tray. The lid of the case is lined with ivory coloured satin. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind, making this set ideal as a gift.
The napkin rings were made in Birmingham by John Rose and date to 1915. John Rose founded his firm at Hockley Street in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in 1900. They quickly became successful and produced a wide range of silverware, particularly smoking accessories and tableware. The company remained in business into the late 1970s.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and just the minimal superficial surface wear that you would anticipate after 110 years of use. The box is a bit scuffed on the outside but the hinges and clasp are in good working order. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each napkin ring is 4.5cm / 1.8ins in diameter and 1.7cm / 0.67ins deep. The set of six together weighs in at a very respectable 73.9g / 2.6oz of solid Sterling Silver and all boxed up the set weighs 315g / 11.1oz.
The hallmarks, on the outside of each ring, are all nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter q for 1915 and the J R makers' mark for John Rose.
Shipping in the UK is £12.00 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the set.
