Sterling Silver Mounted Cut Crystal Claret Jug
Lovely large cut crystal claret jug with sterling silver mount. Ornate fluted scrolled handle with pretty cast detailing and stepped domed lid with pagoda knop. The collar has fine bright cut engraving framing 2 large vacant cartouches either side and an attractive curved spout. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1979, makers Charles S Green & Co. Ltd.
It measures 32cm (12 1/2") high, 12cm (4 3/4") across the base and 18cm (7") handle to spout. It has an easy capacity of 1100ml (2.2 pints) to the bottom of the silver collar. It weighs 1.5kg (3lbs 5oz). Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration and very light surface wear.
