Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to present for sale this stylish heavy gauge silver Chester hallmarked antique solid silver George V period vesta case/match safe.
This highly collectible and superb quality engine turned early 20th century vesta case dates to 1912 and has a monogram/initials 'GN' and the 24th April 1915 engraved within a circle, and has a loop ring to attach to a fob chain.

Silversmiths: William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland overstruck with the retailer's mark - George Edward and Sons Glasgow
Origin: Birmingham, England in business between C 1872-1925
Date of manufacture: 1912
Assay office: Chester
Material: Sterling Silver

Condition report:
In overall very good condition for its age of 109 years, with age related bruises, scratches and tarnish marks, minor corrosion to the match striker.
