Set 12 Fruit / Desert Knives and Forks c.1890
An absolutely sensational and highly decorative complete boxed set of twelve fruit or desert knives and forks made by Levesley Brothers of Sheffield.
Each knife and fork is in beautiful condition with wonderful iridescent Mother or Pearl handles, silver plated blades and tines and decorative repousse ferrules.
This set is highly ornate with intricate engraving, the kind we (and our clients) are always in search of.
The interior of the box is fabulous with cream silk and navy blue velvet, the interior of the lid retains the original retailer's label. This complete set dates to the late Victorian era, around 1890 / 1900.
Quite exceptional in every way and in superb condition. The box measures 12 1/2" x 9 1/4" the knife measures 7 3/4" and the fork, 6 1/2" in length.
