Pair Victorian Silver RW Initials Menu Holders
Very nice pair of large Victorian silver place card holders. Clearly custom made with a set of entwined initials of RW in the art nouveau naturalistic style being the main feature of the pieces designed to be viewed clearly once the card is inserted. This front plate is on a sprung hinge to snap back against the back plate and hold the card in place. Set on heavily weighted, plain curved bases. Made by Sampson Mordan & Co., hallmarked to the bases, front and back plates, London 1899. A lovely gift for any RWs out there but also very pretty pieces in their own right.
The measure 8.5cm (3 3/8") wide, 3.5cm (1 3/8") front to back and 4.7cm (1 7/8") high. They weigh 445g (bases weighted). Condition is very good. One has been neatly repaired right at the base of the back-plate. Light surface wear, clear hallmarks and the hinged front-plates spring back well. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
