Pair Antique Wooden Glove Stretchers in sections
This is an attractive and rare pair of antique glove stretchers made of wood, probably beech, dating from around the 1890s to Edwardian times. They are made in three sections which was to facilitate their use in drying gloves after washing. Leather gloves were difficult to wash and tend to shrink and crinkle, so these stretchers were inserted to keep their shape as they dried.
They both have turned handles and are made in three sections which slide in separately into the gloves.
They are in excellent condition, except that, as can be seen in the last photo, one section on the left hand does not slide out and I am reluctant to force it. They would make a welcome addition to a collection of treen or articles in domestic use during this period.
Postage for this item is free within the United Kingdom. This is by signed for delivery and includes insurance. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE CONTACT US FOR OVERSEAS POSTAL CHARGES BEFORE PAYING FOR THIS ITEM.

Terms and conditions
I am careful to describe goods as accurately as I can, but secondhand and antique items almost always show some signs of wear and may have small flaws which have been overlooked, so please do not expect perfection when buying something old and used.
If you are not happy with your purchase and return it in undamaged condition within 14 days of receipt, I will refund your full purchase price excluding return postage.
