Georgian Silver Embossed Pedestal Cream Jug c.1773
A pretty Georgian silver pedestal cream jug with raised scroll handle, shaped rim and later embossed decoration of flowering vine reserving a vacant cartouche framed with scrolls and arabesques. Hallmarked for London and with the lion passant, the maker initials have been overstruck with the date letter which appears I think to be the S for 1773 but it is distorted. The maker's mark can be read as "T.?".
It measures 10.3cm (4 1/8") high and 8.5cm (3 3/8") spout to handle, 5.7cm (2 1/4") wide. It weighs 74g / 2.4ozt.
In very good condition with no damage or repair. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
