George V Silver Trinket Dish, Walker & Hall, 1926

Here we have a very stylish George V Sterling Silver Trinket Dish with Pierced Sides. The trinket dish is made in Sheffield by world famous silversmiths Walker & Hall and dates to 1926. Walker & Hall were one of England's most successful silversmiths and electroplaters for over a century, from their foundation in 1845 until their merge into British Silverware Ltd in 1963.
The trinket dish is round with a scalloped edge and pierced panels and stands on 3 nicely sculpted short legs. It is ideal for rings or other small pieces of antique jewellery and would look gorgeous on either a modern or period dressing table or bedside cabinet.
Condition is very good, with just a couple of tiny dings in the base of the bowl, almost inevitable in trinket dishes of this age, and the superficial surface wear you would expect. The pierced panels have no splits in them. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The dish is 9cm / 3.5" in diameter across the top and stands 4.2cm / 1.75" high. It weighs a very respectable 44.1g / 1.55oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the outside of one of the solid panels are clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter "i" for 1926 and the W&H makers' mark for Walker & Hall.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
