9ct Gold Pepperette 1920 Cavendish Family Crest
D.J.MASSEY & SON
This is a 9ct. gold Pepperette, with a pierced push fit lid which is hand engraved with a pattern between the holes and finished with a reeded edge. The main body is plain and sits on a round pedestal foot.
The body is also hand engraved with the Cavendish family crest, possibly linking this pepperette to Chatsworth House, the Cavendish family seat.
It is hallmarked on the lid and body London 1920 with the makers mark EB&S Ltd. –Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd, of Hatton Garden, London.
The pepperette stands 90mm. high.
The widest point on the lid is 35mm.
Weight 33.9 grams.
