This is a fine pair of Elizabeth II Sterling Silver Candlesticks in the traditional style. They have circular bases with line decoration, tapering stems and urn shaped sconces. The bases are filled for stability and have a green baize cover on the underside.

The candlesticks are made in Birmingham by silversmith Ray Hall and date to 1990. Ray Hall was a well regarded silversmith active in Birmingham's famous antique jewellery quarter between the early 1980s and around 2005.

Condition is very good with just a couple of truly miniscule dings and only the most minimal amount of wear. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The candlesticks stand 18.5cm / 7.3ins high and are 8.3cm / 3.3ins in diameter across the base. The pair together weigh in at 449.1g / 15.8oz but this does of course include the weighting material in the bases.

The hallmarks around the rim of the bases are a little rubbed but still clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter Q for 1990 and the RH in a circle makers' mark for Ray Hall.
