Victorian silver stamp box, Birmingham 1900
This pretty single stamp box has a lovely semi-circular form. The glazed lid encasing an original stamp. The fully sprung cover is lined internally with purple leather. It is raised on four ball feet and has a gilt interior.
Hallmarks:
L&S for Levi & Salaman.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Date letter "a" for 1900.
Lion Passant.
Dimensions:
3cm x 3cm x 1.5 / 1.2 inches x 0.6 inches
Condition:
Excellent.
Strong hinge and good spring mechanism.
Internal stamp a little faded, commensurate with age.
No repairs to ball feet.
