Victorian Elaborately Carved Oak Perdonium
Here is a most charming Victorian perdonium coal box, or can be used as a very charming and novel lamp table or bedside table/cabinet.
C1890.
This superb perdonium is made of solid Oak, with beautifully carved designs in the 17thc style.
Having a very pretty carved upstand, with shell and scroll designs.
Having a drop-front with a wonderful Lions head to the centre, and an abundance of carved fruits to each side.
Inside is the original liner for the coal. This can be removed if preferred and used for storage instead.
The colour is a rich medium oak, with lots of character and warmth.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
Bees-waxed and polished.
