A fabulous and highly unusual sterling silver desk set in the form of a daybed or chez lounge with standing on four incredibly elegant legs and all over figural repousse or embossed decoration. The silver is I believe originally Dutch 930 (Sterling) but with full English import marks for London 1899 the silversmith's initials for John George Smith are also present.

The seat is hinged and fits well with a snap shut when closed. the interior comprises of a central lidded compartment for postage stamps, one side has a removable ink chamber and the other side a removable sander or pounce.

A fabulous centrepiece for the inkwell collector or silver devotee looking for something different and highly collectible. Excellent condition, measuring 5 7/8" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" tall.
