This solid silver compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
The most gorgeous collector's piece! Probably the best sterling silver Elgin American compact you will see.
This solid silver compact has a satinized lid & base & having never been used is in superb condition. The lid is adorned with gold plated flowers in a gilt highly stylized vase. In person this vanity is so much more beautiful. The foliage is decorated with the bright-cut style of engraving which means they glitter like jewels when the light catches them. The compact is exquisitely beautiful & although it is over 70 years old it is like new. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The inner lid is signed 'Elgin American MADE IN U.S.A.' & the case is marked 'STERLING'. The unused puff is signed 'Elgin American' in gilt letters. The mirror gives a good reflection as you will see from image three. There is some age related haze which in no way detracts from this exceptionally pretty vanity. The pouch is pristine black suede.
This unused sterling silver compact measures 8.5 cm wide & weighs 127.7 grams.
