This is a very beautiful sterling silver compact in good condition. This compact has beautiful scroll work adorning both the lid & base. It is fully hallmarked. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent & gives a perfect reflection. The interior is also delightful with engravings scroll work around the mirror & powder well. The base is decorated with an attractive engine turned design of tiny diamond shapes. There are three very tiny dimples (not dings) on the base. Image four confirms that these are very hard to see, almost unnoticeable. This gorgeous vintage compact was made c.1940 & is marked 'STERLING 925 (sterling) S.F. (the maker) 449'

This solid silver compact measures 3" & it weighs 85.6 grams.
