This solid silver powder compact is suitable for use with loose and pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.
This is a fully hallmarked sterling silver powder compact from the "Mayfair" series of Kigu compacts. The compact has never been used and it is in superb condition. It is for sale in the original satin lined presentation box with all the original accessories - a felt lined pouch, a removable sterling silver inner annular ring (so that 59 - 67 mm powder pans may be used), a silk and fabric puff, sifter and the instruction leaflet. The lid is decorated with the most gorgeous satinized and lacquered design. In the middle of the lid an eye-catching complex diamond cut circular motif. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent and gives a accurate clear reflection. The compact is hallmarked throughout. The mirror bezel is signed " MADE IN ENGLAND ". The base is decorated with the most exquisite guilloche engraving which reflects the Kigu goldsmith's tradition.
A superb collector's piece or impressive gift for her.
This vintage powder compact measures 3 " & weighs 85.5 grams.
