Silver Sifter Spoon William Chawner London 1821
Here we have for sale this fine quality Regency period Old English Pattern sifter spoon, by one of the most highly regarded silversmiths of the nineteenth century, William Chawner II. This superior piece of silver tableware is nicely pierced and is of the exceptional quality you would expect from William Chawner II. An exquisite example of William Chawner's work that would make a fine addition to your silver collection, looking lovely on display or would make the most perfect present for a loved one for a Birthday or Anniversary present. This spoon is unusual because it does not have a crest or monogram at the top of the spoon, so is not personalised.

William Chawner II set up his family business, Chawner & Co in 1815. Prior to setting up his own business, William Chawner had completed a seven year apprenticeship and then went into partnership with William Eley and his master, William Fearn between 1808-15 ( an example of their work is for sale in our shop, the sugar basket we have in stock, check our eBay shop for details). After William Chawner died in 1834, Mary Chawner Senior took over then she went into partnership with her son in law George Adams until 1840 we have an example of George Adams' work also in our shop - a fiddle pattern caddy spoon for sale. We therefore have three pieces of silverware available from the Chawner for sale in our shop for you to look at and buy.
This sifter spoon is a historically important object that would be the envy of friends and family alike, a great investment and a sound purchase.
Condition Report
In very good condition for its age of 200 years old, the usual age related tarnish marks and surface scratches plus a very small deeper scratch, please see the attached photographs. Free Postage Within the U.K.
