This lovely horse hoof pincushion has superb decorative sterling silver gilt mountings. The mounts are fully hallmarked for London 1927 with the maker's mark for D & J Wellby, and the maker is also stamped on the bottom. The silver gilt mount is engraved to the front with 'CMH Columbine, Age 29 years, 1927.' There is a pincushion in the top.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The silver mountings have some tarnishing and surface wear as might be expected and there is some slight misshapping in places. There is one pin missing from the top mount and some of the others are a little loose. The fabric of the pincushion is badly faded, worn and frayed and would benefit from some restoration. The pincushion is a little loose.
