We have the real pleasure of being able to offer this very lovely Art Deco Christopher Dresser inspired English silver and glass decanter.

The decanter is of the baluster form with an ovoid body extending from a circular base. The body extends to a hallmarked silver lidded collar which in turn extends to form a lovely Christopher Dresser style angular handle on one side and a lovely angular spout on the other. The lovely hinged lid is capped by a silver cross. The collar/handle/spout carries full English hallmarks for London 1921 along with the makers marks for the excellent silversmiths Wakely & Wheeler. The lid also carries the English Sterling silver mark along with the Wakely & Wheeler marks and the date letter for 1921. The origins of Wakely and Wheeler go right back to 1791 when John Lias set up a business as a buckle maker. Wakely and Wheeler are very highly regarded and their beautifully designed Art deco pieces are particularly desirable.

The decanter is approximately 9 & 1/4 inches (23.5cm) high and is in a very good condition. The hallmarks show some sign of slight rubbing, but can be easily read. The glass body is excellent, other than a small flake/chip/imperfection at the centre of the underside of the foot.
