An excellent quality Sheffield plate entrée dish. This has applied decoration to all the edges, a detachable handle and stands on well shaped feet. The interior tray lifts out to reveal a hot water compartment in the base. This is a fine example of early Victorian Sheffield plate, there is a very small amount of copper showing but generally this dish this is in excellent condition. Sizes:14 ½ “(37cms) wide, 10”(26cms) deep, 7”(18cms) high including handle. Date circa 1840. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book.
