Set Of 6 Pierced Silver Coffee Spoons & Tongs 1916
Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to offer for sale this complete set of superb set of six George V period hallmarked silver tea or coffee spoons and matching sugar tongs complete with their original fitted box.
Each of these fine quality coffee spoons is in the Art Nouveau style, and have a beautiful pierced handle also evident on the sugar tongs.

Silversmiths: James Dixon & Son
Date mark: 1916
Assay office: Sheffield
Dimensions:
Length: 10 cm
Width of bowl: 2.5 cm
length of tongs: 9 cm
Combined weight: 72 grams
This superb set would make a wonderful gift for a loved one, or a lovely treat for yourself - an exemplary addition to your silverware collection and would look marvellous on display in your home.
Condition Report
The spoons:
In overall excellent condition for their 105 year age, with surface scratches and tarnish marks consistent with age, however no dents or significant wear and all the hallmarks are crisp and legible.
The box:
The original fitted retailers box is in overall good condition with a lovely deep blue velvet and satin interior and a good clasp, there is noticeable wear to the base of the box and general age related wear all round, also the tongs will not always sit in their holder.
