Set 8 Victorian Scottish Silver Dinner Table Forks
A very nice and heavy set of 8 silver Old English Pattern dinner forks. The reverse of the handles bear the family crest of the Cowan family of a scallop shell under the motto "sic itur in altum" (this is the way to heaven). All hallmarked for Edinburgh 1891-92, makers Hamilton & Inches.
They measure 20cm (7 7/8") long and 2.2cm (7/8") wide. Combined weight of 570g/18.3ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs and just minor surface wear from age and use the hallmarks are lovely and clear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
