For sale we have a very seasonal relic of WW1, a 1914 Princess Mary Christmas Tin.

Approximately 355,000 of these tins were sent out to the troops serving in the trenches in 1914 as a result of Princess Mary organising a nationwide appeal via the Sailors and Soldiers Christmas fund. Originally the Princess Mary tins would have contained sweets, cigarettes, a pencil along with a photograph of Princess Mary and a Christmas card.

This particular 5 inch (12.7cm) long tin has long since given up it contents, but the tin has survived and is in a remarkably good condition having obviously been carefully looked after for the last 100 years.
