Pair of Edwardian Silver Photo Frames, B'ham, 1905
This is a smart pair of Edwardian Sterling Silver Photograph Frames. The frames are round with a ribbon and bow decoration on the top and an easel back. The visible picture size is 7cm / 2.75ins diameter.
The frames are made in Birmingham by E. Mander & Son and date to 1905. Mander & Son were specialist frame makers with manufacturing premises in Birmingham and a showroom in the City of London. Founded in the 1890s, they remained in business into the early 1950s. Their silver frames are always good quality.
Condition is good with just a couple of tiny dings to the silver and a little wear and tear to the backs. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The frames are 10.6cm / 4.2ins from top to bottom and 8.6cm / 3.4ins across. The all in weight of the pair together is 115.2g / 4oz.
The hallmarks, on the bottom of the frame, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter f for 1905 and the E.M & S makers' mark for E. Mander & Son.
