Mid-Century Continental Silver Dressing Set
This is an attractive Mid-Century Continental 835 Silver Backed Four Piece Dressing Set. The set consists of a hand mirror, a hair brush, a comb and a clothes brush. All the pieces are backed in 835/1000 grade silver with a scalloped edge. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The set is continental in origin and dates to around the 1950s/60s. It is stamped with a makers' mark of the letters H B in a shield beneath a crown but unfortunately we have been unable to identify this. 835 grade silver is most commonly found in Belgium and Holland.
Condition is good with just a few truly tiny dings in the silver backs plus the overall superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The hand mirror is 28cm / 11ins long and 13.7cm / 5.4ins across. The hairbrush is 22.3cm / 8.8ins long and 6.6cm / 2.6ins across. The clothes brush is 16cm / 6.3ins long and 4.2cm / 1.6ins across. The comb is 19cm / 7.5ins long. All together the set weighs 654g / 23oz.
