An attractive antique Meiji Period Japanese Shibayama folding fire screen dating from circa 1900. The screen has two wonderful panels decorated with birds and flowers in intricately carved bone and mother of pearl set on a contrasting black lacquered background. The top, base and sides are beautifully carved and it has a good rich patina to it. To the reverse are 3 flying birds.

Lacquered Wood, bone and mother of pearl
Condition Report:
Good condition. Slight wear and marks commensurate with age.
