This is a rare & very beautiful powder compact made from high grade silver c.1940. The lid has an engine turned design of vertical lines, as does the base. As you can see the lid is also engraved with the most beautiful gilt flowers & foliage. The compact is fully hallmarked. The mirror is excellent & gives a perfect reflection. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. Such a good quality compact with a spring loaded catch that ensures the lid glides open. The compact is in very good condition.
This solid silver compact measures 3" & it weighs 86.4 grams.
This compact is suitable for use as a handbag mirror.
