A Fabulous Antique Edwardian Heavy SILVER and Stunning Electric Blue GUILLOCHE ENAMEL Card Case by LIBERTY & CO dating to 1908.

What a gem, one of the nicest items we have listed! Looks even better in the flesh than in the photos.

The front is wonderfully enamelled in the most striking electric blue guilloche which is in largely original condition with just 2 small areas of wear at the top corners of the body of the case (please see photos), from 100+ years of use.

The lid opens to reveal 'L & Co' within 3 diamonds, the maker's/retailer's mark for LIBERTY & CO., probably the most iconic retailer of luxury goods since 1874. Full hallmarks on the case for Birmingham 1908, the lid is also hallmarked under the enamel. The rear is engraved with the original owner's intertwined initials "E" & "V". The interior is gilded. The hinge is intact, the lid shuts snugly. Comes complete with original chain and finger ring (unmarked).

The case is manufactured from heavy gauge silver with a substantial weight (incl. chain) of ~ 146.5gm (~5.17 troy oz).

A really superb item which would have been a high-end luxury purchase in its day. Still stunning after 105 years!
