Georgian Silver Filigree Jockey Cap Caddy Spoon
Delicate and rare filigree silver caddy spoon in the shape of a jockey’s cap. The cap is a woven basket weave effect with central disc, unengraved. The peak has a beautiful scroll and leaf filigree design. Unmarked as is usual, made in Birmingham, c.1800. Please see plate 96 in “Caddy Spoons – An Illustrated Guide” by John Norrie for a similar example.
It measures 5cm (2") by 4.2cm (1 5/8") wide and weighs 10g / 0.3ozt.
Condition is very good. Some minor splits to a few of the wires where the peak meets the cap as is often the case. No losses or repairs. Slight distortion to the base of the cap. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
