Flintlock Tinder Lighter
Flintlock Tinder Lighter strike a light with candle holder modelled on a 17th c 18thc pistol
probably made in Italy during the latter half of the 20th century circa 1960s 1970s the lighter is made from steel brass and has a fruit wood pistol handle the mechanism is in working condition complete with flint.

Tinder pistols were used in the mid-seventeenth century before matches making a flame was time consuming gunsmiths began converting broken pistols to store tinder rather than gunpowder the trigger released a mechanism that struck a piece of flint to the steel pan making a spark which set light to the dry tinder.
Table tinder pistols were also made with a candlestick
