Edwardian Silver Mustard Spoon, M.J. Jessop, 1904

![](http://staticaz.antiquesatlas.com/images/loading_new.gif)
This is a very good quality Edwardian Sterling Silver Mustard Spoon in the classic Old English pattern. The spoon is made in Birmingham by Matthew John Jessop and dates to 1904. Matthew John Jessop was a high end manufacturer and retailer in London's famous Hatton Garden from the mid-1880s up until the start of World War One. His work is found with both Birmingham & London hallmarks.
This is a well made spoon in a good gauge of silver. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind. It remains perfectly suitable for use today or would make a nice addition to any collection.
Condition is very good with no dings, dents or corrosion and only the most superficial of surface wear. It has clearly been well looked after for the last 116 years! Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The mustard spoon is 9cm / 3.6" long and weighs a respectable 6.6g / 0.23oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the underside of the stem, are well struck and very clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter "e" for 1904 and the MJJ makers' mark for Matthew John Jessop.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class signed For.
