Edwardian Britannia Standard Silver Porringer
Lovely Edwardian Britannia standard silver porringer with the lion's head erased mark denoting 958 standard silver. Georgian style with snake's head style handles and pretty later embossed pattern of wrythen stripes with ring band to the lower half and a vacant cartouche to one side surrounded by arabesques and scaled sections with foliage below. A gadrooned band runs around the upper half and cast ribbed detail adorn the handles. Hallmarked for London 1905, maker Maurice Freeman.
It measures 9cm (3 1/2") high, 16.5cm (6 1/2") across the handles and 10cm (4") rim to rim. It weighs 246g/7.9ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repair and light surface wear from age and use. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
