This is an attractive Chinese Canton Famille Rose hand-painted porcelain tea cup and saucer from the early 20th century, circa 1920.

The detailing is extremely fine with a vase, coins, a bird perched on a branch of cherry blossom, a bat and flowers forming the composition in the central panel of the saucer, surrounded by a wide band of repeating floral motifs including four blue-winged bats and four vignettes each with two butterflies. The same pattern is repeated on the outside of the cup with, in addition, a band of floral motifs on the inside of the rim. 'China' is stamped on the underneath of each piece.

Cup - Height 5 cm x Diameter 9.6 cm, Width including handle 11.5 cm

Condition: Excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks, just some very minor rubbing of the painting.
