Ceremonial Anglo-Indian Silver Repoussé Bowl
This is a magnificent Anglo-Indian ceremonial sized bowl decorated with silver repoussé work and inlay onto a copper body, second half 19th century.
The quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding decorated with Hindu deities playing musical instruments and bands of nature-inspired repeating motifs, this bowl would have been made for an important member of the British Raj.
Dimensions: Diameter 34 cm Height 19.5 cm (13 1/4 x 7 3/4 inch)
Weight: 4.03 kg
Condition: There are some minor losses to the applied silver decoration though all the figures are intact. Two of the figures are a little compressed but there are no dings to the body itself. We have a trusted delivery man who is a experienced in transporting antiques, pictures and fragile items. He can deliver to most places on mainland England and Wales and, depending on where he is on his schedule, it may take a few days or up to 4 weeks. Other couriers are available for Scotland and North Wales or where a shorter time frame is required. Purchases can also be collected in person from the Tunbridge Wells area in SE England.
