As far as we can tell this is an unused original set of six small coffee spoons and matching sugar nips, in the Art Deco style (early in the design period as they are dated for 1916, although popular adoption of Art Deco was post 1925, the design and influences did start before world war 1). This set would be better described as Demitasse rather than coffee, as they are diminutive and perfectly suited to the coffee cans of the period. The set come in their original retailers box, which apart from some marking from the silver on the silk lining the box is in good condition, good hinge and clasp.

The silver is in as new condition.

All the pieces are fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1916 and by Thomas Bradbury and Sons.

Size: each spoon is 8 cm long and the sugar nips are 6.5 cm long by 3.2 cm wide the spoons weigh an average of 6 grams each and the nips are 11 grams Buchanan and Laing Galleries are a private client business. Appointments can be made by arrangement via email.
