Art Deco Silver 3 Piece Tea Set Clark & Co. Ltd
Stunning and elegant 3 piece silver tea set of circular form with waisted, curved tapering sides with shallow round belly. The widest point trimmed with an egg and dart border, also matched around the lid of the teapot. The tea pot has carved walnut handle and knop and the fine strap handles have lovely delicate leaf terminals. Hallmarked to the sides for Birmingham 1923, makers Alexander Clark & Co. Ltd and further retailer marks to the base also for Alexander Clark Co. Ltd London and registered design number 641133.
The teapot measures 11.5cm (4 ½”) high, 24cm (9 ½”) long and 16.5cm (6 ½”) wide. The sugar bowl is 6.5cm (2 ½”) high and 11.5cm (4 ¼”) wide by 14cm (5 ½”) and the jug is also 6.5cm (2 ½”) high and 10cm (4”) by 13cm (5”) wide.
Total weight is 844g/27ozt.
Condition is excellent. There is a very fine shrinkage line to the upper part of the knop, which is barely visible. The knop and handle are perfectly secure and surface wear is very light, the set appears to have been little used. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
