Art Deco French Group By Irenee Rochard C1930
Large & Impressive Antique French Art Deco Bronzed Spelter Figural Group depicting greyhounds in chase of a gazelle & signed by the esteemed French Sculpturer Irenee Rochard famed for his prolific work in animal sculptures in metals and bronze.
We came across this wonderful original piece whilst driving through a small village in France recently and dating from around 1930 depicts two greyhounds jumping a fence towards the sprinting gazelle and is set on a marble base with onyx insets. In extremely good condition with no chips or cracks to the base and with original patination to the greyhounds with some very slight age markings which is to be expected. There is no mistaking the beauty of the form of this wonderful piece and the merit of the Artist that created it.
