Antique Welsh Miner's Lamp by Thomas & Williams
This attractive antique miner's lamp has no makers stamps, but we believe it to be an E. Thomas & Williams Bonneted Clanny model, dating from c.1910-1920. It has various numbers stamped into it in various places. The top metal chimney housing is riveted. The glass, burner and mesh are all present, and we believe them to be original. The lamp can disassembled.
Condition: Overall in good condition, but with some wear and some later restoration. The top chimney housing has been re-blacked at some point, and we believe the hanging hook to be a more modern replacement. There are two rivets missing from the top. The chimney is a little misshapen and there is some minor splitting by the top vent holes. The brass has some scratching, pitting and verdigree. There is some surface rusting to the base and inside the chimney.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
24cm high, 9cm diameter of base. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
