A delightful very high grade silver compact in superb condition. Sterling silver is 925 parts per 1000 pure silver this is 950. A gorgeous heavy weight compact that is sure to impress. The lid & base are engraved the same attention to detail & the whole piece is one of great beauty. The cartouche on the lid is engraved with the initials 'V.L.S.' It really does not matter if these are not the recipients initials as they could be removed by a jeweller/jeweler but also the design is so eye-catching everything just looks beautiful. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent & gives a perfect reflection. The compact is hallmarked 'SILVER 950'.
This charming solid silver vintage powder compact measures just over 9 cm & weighs 144.6 grams.
