An ornate, beautiful and fully hallmarked sterling silver chatelaine purse with a sterling silver divided interior so that it has two separate compartments. Such a charming one of a kind antique silver gift. This ancient little purse is in superb condition. Made with the extraordinary skill we associate with French silversmiths of this era. The frame is the most beautiful Art Nouveau & has embossed floral motifs, foliage and scroll work. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The purse is hallmarked in three different locations and includes the maker's mark too. The purse is ancient but does not look like it has ever been used. On one side is the hanging ring and the other a shield cartouche which is blank.

This adorable antique silver chatelaine purse 9 cm X 5.8 cm & weighs 40.9 grams.
