This is an antique ginger jar. An Oriental, cloisonne spice urn, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Highly decorative example of cloisonne
Displays a desirable aged patina
Cloisonne in good order throughout
Dome top decorated with a pink flower, blue hemispheres and bronze trim
Midnight black ground decorated with bright, golden cloud pattern
Copious foliate detail, joined by flying birds
Blue, turquoise and capsicum foliate detail encircles the brass coloured rim
Rim diameter of 6.5cm (2.5")
Interior of jar finished in attractive, deep turquoise hue
Standing upon a bronze painted rim with turquoise base
