Antique French bronze lion on a onyx base
A fine French late 19th c bronze study of a prowling lion
This superbly detailed fine bronze study depicts a male prowling lion. His body ripples with his muscular physique as he moves forward on large clawed paws. His head is framed with a full curly mane and he has a well defined face.
This lovely bronze is mounted and displayed onto its original pale green figured onyx base which has a suede leather lining to the underside to protect polished surfaces.
French, circa 1900
Height 9cm x width 12cm x depth 4cm
