This is an antique fire basket. An English, wrought iron fireplace grate, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Generous example for the fireplace, with an appealing Victorian appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Substantial wrought iron with a good, consistent graphite finish
Traditional portcullis form, key to the Gothic revival overtones
Rolled front apron and shaped support ends add neat detail
Distinctive splayed toes to each corner
